A polymer is a long chain made of many smaller repeating pieces linked together one after another, similar to how a paperclip chain is made of lots of identical paperclips linked end to end.
Fix made slime by mixing glue and a special activator together. The glue already had short polymer chains in it, and the activator made those chains link together into longer, stretchier chains — turning the liquid glue into slime!
Polymers are everywhere in everyday life. Plastic bottles, rubber bands, and even your own hair and fingernails are all made of natural or human-made polymer chains.
